Order and Artwork Requirements

Although Gordon Sinclair accepts artwork in any form or format, electronic art is the best method to ensure speedy and accurate production.
Imprint Size and Position
Order must clearly specify if the artwork is one side, two sides, opposite handle, or wrapped around. Order must also clearly state if the artwork is exact to size, or should be enlarged or reduced. If a specific placement location is required, even on repeat orders, this must be specified on the purchase order otherwise Gordon Sinclair will not be held responsible for incorrect placement. IF NOT SPECIFIED, EVEN ON A REPEAT PO, ART PLACEMENT WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ART DEPARTMENT.
7 pt font size is the minimum in order to print clearly. Curved lines must be a minimum of 0.5 pt thickness to print, straight lines must be a minimum of 1.2 pt thickness to print. There must be a minimum of 0.75 pt thickness clear space between objects in order to print without filling in.
Tolerance on multi-color tight registration artwork is 1/16”. This tolerance is industry standard and must be considered acceptable.
There will be a $20.00 (V) typesetting charge for all straight-line copy, up to three lines. Unless otherwise specified, typestyle is at the discretion of the art department.
Although Gordon Sinclair accepts artwork in any form or format, electronic art is the best method to ensure speedy and accurate production. We reserve the right to reject any art that is not considered camera-ready; any artwork that may need to be recreated will be charged at an hourly rate of $75.00(v). We use the latest technology in MACINTOSH-BASED systems. Artwork will be quoted before production begins. We accept the following formats: AI, PDF, EPS. Please make sure that all files are embedded before sending. Bitmap files must be saved at a minimum of 300 dpi and at 100% of the final output size.
Convert all type to curves, paths or outlines (vector art). If this is not possible, send in Macintosh version screen and printer fonts used for the job to be printed.
For multi-color orders, use Pantone spot colors and indicate exact PMS color numbers.
If line screen or dot pattern is used, a 35-line screen must be used with percentages no less than 10% or greater than 40%. Files that include gradients or blends will need alterations for optimum printing quality.
When supplying a disk, please provide a hard copy or faxed copy output for proofing purposes. On multi-color orders, please indicate color breaks.
All Quark files need to be "collected for output." Include all placed-files along with MAC screen and printer fonts used in the document.
300 DPI is the lowest resolution for bitmap format and art should be sent to the requested imprint size.
We can accept compressed files, if necessary, with Stuffit, Win-Zip, or Self-extracting archive (.sea).
Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.) are not graphics programs and are not acceptable file formats. Gordon Sinclair can recreate or alter most formats to meet printing requirements, but a delay in the production schedule and additional charges may occur.
Gordon Sinclair offers a variety of inks at no additional charge. PMS colors are paper colors and will be used for reference only. Due to the nature of ceramics, glass and the firing process, absolute exact matches cannot be guaranteed. A pre-production proof is strongly recommended when imprint colors are critical
Halftones are printed at 60dpi and must be reviewed and approved by the Art Department prior to printing. A pre-production sample may be mandatory.
Satin Etch Ink imprint simulates an ‘etched’ look and is considered a standard imprint color.
Gordon Sinclair reserves the right to commence production upon receipt of the order. Customers will be required to pay for all work completed at the time of cancellation. Any changes requested after artwork has been prepared for production may incur additional film and screen charges. All cancellations and changes to any pending order must be submitted in writing.
New customers must included trade references and a credit card number for all new orders. Credit checks on new accounts may take up to two weeks. Cash, Check, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard or American express is required with each purchase. 2.5% surcharge is needed with all credit card orders. Net 30 days or interest charges will be assessed on all past due accounts. Accounts past due will delay production until the account is current. Shipping dates will then be scheduled.
Change of Color
$20.00 per color. Must be in full case quantities.
All claims for damage or shortages of shipment must be made with 10 days of receipt of the shipment or it will be assumed shipment was without damage and was shipped complete. Neither supplier nor Distributor assumes any ability for damage or shortages after this point. No returns will be accepted with prior written consent of Gordon Sinclair. No product will be accepted for return after being altered or otherwise used. Gordon Sinclair disclaims any responsibility for products after 30 days in buyer's possession.
Factory will be responsible for any duplicated shipment that occur if 'confirming' does not appear on any follow-up or faxed orders.
Split shipments are billed at $8.00(V) per drop ship location after the first shipment. International drop shipments are billed at $16.00(V) per location after the first shipment. Individual name drops are billed at $3.75(V). Any order with more than 10 locations must provide a complete list of addresses at least 2 days prior to shipping, otherwise the order is subject to delay. Addresses must be submitted using our supplied template (see below) or an additional fee of $3.00(V) per location will apply. DROP OR SPLIT SHIPMENTS MUST BE IN FULL CASE QUANTITIES. BROKEN CASES ARE BILLED AT $16.00(V). All perishable items will be donated. Please complete the following template for drop-shipments:

Gift and Mailer Boxes
Gift and Mailer boxes are available for most items. Allow additional production time 1-3 days.
PMS Stock Colors
All standard colors are available at no additional charge.
PMS Color Match
All PMS color match charges are $30 [V] per color, per order. Exact color is not guaranteed.
Price includes a one color, one location imprint. Prices are per piece based on quantity orders. Pricing is subject to change without notification. Prices do not include freight charges. All orders are billed based to PO pricing at the time of order. We are not responsible for typographical errors on the site or in the catalog copy or photography misrepresentations.
Less Than Minimum (LTM)
LTM orders must be at least half of the 1st column quantity listed on www.gordonsinclair.com. LTM charge of $50.00(v) will be incurred. LTM is only available as a one color spot imprint or up to a full color digital imprint.
To maintain quality control, we reserve the right to ship up to 5% over or under the quantity ordered and bill accordingly. This is industry standard and must be considered fulfillment of the order. Orders requiring 'no overruns' are subject to 5% underrun, and orders requiring 'no underruns' are subject to an overrun for up to 5%. Exact quantity orders are available for an additional charge of $25.00(V).
Production will depend on imprint method, number of colors being used and method used for printing. See individual item pages for specific details.
Paper or Electronic Art Proofs
Paper proof charge is $6.00 [V]. All proofs must be signed and faxed/emailed back to us in order to proceed with production. Production begins after receipt of written proof approval. No credit will be issued for any art errors after approval.
Physical pre-production proofs are $35 [V] plus setup, shipping and product cost. Virtual proofs are available at no charge. Email email@example.com. Spec Samples are $65.00 [V] plus setup, shipping and product cost.
Must include previous PO number and logo specifications. Art is held for a 12 month period from date of receipt. Re-setup charges are $30 [V] per screen. PMS color match is $30.00 [V] per color. Paper proof charge is $6.00 [V] per logo. All additional charges are applicable.
Returns and Allowances
Merchandise found to be incorrect due to our error will be replaced at no cost if returned within 30 days of receipt. A written authorization from Gordon Sinclair is required prior to any returns. Merchandise returned with no such authorization, including random samples, will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender. No credit will be issued for merchandise that is not authorized.

Available based on production capacity and product stock. Available only for pad print one color/ one location imprints up to end column quantity. We will attempt to meet your needs without additional charges. However, courier and expediting charges may apply.
Random samples and blank samples are sold at EQP plus shipping and handling charges. For same day shipments, orders MUST arrive by 1PM EST.
Screen and setup charges for pad print and screen printing are $60 [V] per imprint color, per location. Reset up charges for pad printing and screen-printing are $30.00 [V]. 4 Color process screen charges are $250.00[V]. Screen charges for etching are $120.00 [V] each.
Items used for self-promotions will be invoiced at EQP less 20%. All screen and setup charges apply. Item specific minimums are required to order.
All products are shipped FOB our warehouse 15701 by FEDEX ground and are insured at the value of merchandise invoiced. All packaging weights are approximate and are subject to change without notice. Packaging will vary according to quantities ordered. Due to the volume of orders shipped daily, adjustments to ship methods must be received 2 days before scheduled ship date or changes cannot be guaranteed. Shipping methods on orders shipping early will not be adjusted to meet in-hands date. Handling charges will be applied to all orders. Shipping ceramics and glass require to the use of a Protective-Pack Carton. Pricing for each Protective-Pack box is $6.25 (V). In the event that you decline to use our protective-pack box, it is understood that Gordon Sinclair will not be liable for any breakage claims.
The use of a third-party carrier will incur a charge of $3.00 [V] per box handling fee.
Gordon Sinclair will not be responsible for any misinterpretation of copy layout on handwritten orders or layouts. Unless otherwise specified, Gordon Sinclair reserves the right to select fonts and rearrange copy for best appearance or to meet product limitations.
Gordon Sinclair cannot guarantee in-hands or special event dates due to proof approval or carrier delays. Please carefully proofread all artwork for accuracy as factory will not be liable for errors in submitted artwork.
On re-orders please include the previous invoice number as well as the month and year of the previous order. A brief description of the imprint is also helpful. Also specify if there will be color or copy changes. We cannot guarantee exact color matches on repeat orders due to reasons described in ‘Nature of Ceramics’.
We are not responsible for typographical errors. Illustrations depicted are for basic styling and workmanship only. The factory assumes no responsibility for determining who does or does not hold claim to a trademark or logo. Logos or trademarks displayed herein are to show design capabilities only.
